God is for everyone so FCC is a church for everyone.
As a staff, we'll go to any length to make sure people feel loved and known by God.

If you feel the same way, you might be a great fit for one of the positions below.

Community Outreach Minister

Your Context.

First Christian Church is an imperfect group of people who have plenty of differences—and we love it that way. We're seekers and followers who have all come to the same realization: God is for everyone, so we are too. Together we seek to follow Jesus and tell the whole world about His love for them.

As followers of Jesus, one of the core pieces of our DNA is to love everyone. That’s what shapes how we interact with each other and with all of God’s people. We see throughout the Bible that love is more than just warm thoughts or good intentions. It’s marked by action and service. Listening, showing up, and going out of our way to meet the needs of God’s people. First Christian Church is committed to serving our community through organized volunteer opportunities, strategic partnerships, and through building individual relationships with our neighbors.

Your Role.

The Community Outreach Minister works to connect the hands and feet of First Christian Church with opportunities to show love in tangible ways in our community. This role is critical in organizing teams, partnerships, and service projects within our region.

Your Character.

Skills don’t count for much if they aren’t founded on humility and a heart of service. Nowhere is this truer than in the context of working for God’s Church.

• You are passionate to serve in a multi-generational church that seeks to tell the story of Jesus to those who don’t yet know Him.

• Your heart for people who are vulnerable and marginalized spurs you to action.

• You are well-organized and know how to break large tasks into specific roles.

• You lead others with humility, patience, and honesty.

• You know how to recruit, inspire, and equip volunteers to meaningful action.

• Your communication is clear, timely, and friendly through phone, email, and in person.

Your Work with Others.

Nobody flies solo here. We’re a dedicated staff team and are all partners in what’s happening at FCC, so we work in unison and always have each other’s back.

• Work to shape the vision of community outreach at FCC with Staff Leadership.

• Brainstorm with and provide insight to groups regarding potential service opportunities.

• Oversee Benevolence area and lead Benevolence team.

• Supervise the Community Neighbors Minister.

Your Tasks.

Roles within ministry can often encompass a wide variety of responsibilities, but you can expect the following to be a regular part of your role.

• Coordinate serving opportunities in our community

• Recruit, develop, and communicate with volunteers

• Gather supplies/materials needed for service projects

• Organize project sign-ups and registration process

• Track events and volunteers in the FCC database

• Facilitate partnerships with local organizations
