Christmas at First Christian

From fear to bold obedience.

As we read the Christmas story, one of the things we can notice is how the relationship we have with our past and future is radically different once we understand who Jesus is. This Christmas, we will journey with Joseph, who moved from a place of paralyzing fear to bold trusting obedience–all because he encountered the identity of Christ.

You’re invited to join us for one of our Christmas Eve services as we invite Jesus to make the same transformation in our own lives.

Matthew Reading Guide & Resources

Beginning on December 1st, we will begin a 28-week reading plan of the Gospel of Matthew. For the next several sermon series, we will be working our way through the entire book. We hope everyone will take part in this reading plan as we explore the book of Matthew!

CannonballLogo

As we approach the end of the year, we are reminded of all the ways God is using Cannonball, which is our whole mission over these two years.
This includes our core ministry of discipling more people to live like Jesus, our legacy fund as we prepare our building to serve God’s mission for the next 50 years, and exciting impact projects that move us into new arenas of mission.

We are celebrating the good we already see from our impact projects with three mission trips scheduled for 2025, strengthened relationships with church planters, expansion of our local ministry to the unhoused and hungry in our city, and we are making another major investment in the SEND campaign by funding ministry training at Milligan University and internships and residencies here at FCC.

The end of the year is a great opportunity for us to move forward in fulfilling our Cannonball commitments so we can invest more deeply in the ways Cannonball will make even more waves over the year ahead.
