In addition to caring for children and volunteers, KidsTime desires to care for the parents of our children. While the spiritual development of a child is primarily the responsibility of the parent, we as a
Children’s Ministry desire to come alongside parents and be their “best friends”. We want to assist parents in any way we can as they raise their children.  We keep a Parent Resources collection of books in
the church library. If you are looking for literature on topics such as dealing with death, peer pressure, media influence, etc, feel free to contact Melanie Feathers at 232-5700 for more information.

SAFETY MEASURES

The safety of our children—as well as of our parents and volunteers—is of utmost importance to KidsTime.

Children's Name Tags
All children are required to wear a name tag.  Regularly attending children have name tags at their check-in classroom. Visitors to FCC should report to the KidsTime Welcome Center located in the atrium. The Welcome Center attendant will provide the visitor with a name tag and with guidance on how to find his/her classroom.  After visiting three times, if the visiting family agrees, a “regular attender” name tag will
be made for the child.  A parent card is included in the name tag. This card is to be taken by the parent and returned at pick-up time in order to retrieve his/her child.
All children are also assigned a visual pager number. This number is used to page a parent during the worship service.

Volunteers
All volunteers are required to complete a background check and ministry interest form.   Volunteers are asked to wear a staff ID tag.

Cares Ministry
This ministry area includes “security monitors”.   During many Sunday services, these individuals patrol the children’s hallways and playground area in order to be attentive to security issues/needs.

Fire Plan
Fire plans and evacuation maps are posted in classrooms.

First Aid Kits
First Aid kits are kept in the children’s classrooms as well as at the KidsTime Welcome Center.
